Five Days Out...

You know, I had so much fun jet-setting to Chile three years ago, I figured I might as well do it all over again.

In five days, I leave for my summer in Spain: six weeks in Madrid, living with a host family, darling friend/roommate Liz, and *hopefully* a journal's worth of memories. And, of course, a better grasp on Spanish language and culture.

Though this program is so similar to IUHPFL in structure, there are a few key differences.

1. It's not totally immersive. I'm free to use English as wanted, though I want to stick to Spanish as much as possible. But I'll not subject you to full Spanish blogposts like last time.

2. This program is through MLSA (Modern Language Studies Abroad) and Purdue, so I'm taking actual college credit to finish my minor.

3. (I think this is most important one) MLSA travels back into the 21st century, so I will have my phone/laptop/internet with me throughout my time overseas. Expect lots of pictures, videos, and posts over the next six weeks.

A side note on the phone thing: I'll be getting a SIM card in Madrid, so you won't be able to contact via text as normal. If you're *dying* to get in touch, my email/social media is open. Or, you know, leave a comment below :)

There's a small mountain of things to do before Wednesday - packing suitcases, printing documents, dealing with the embarrassing amount of online shopping done in the past week - but it's done with excitement.

Five more days to the great wide somewhere.
